1st Bird of the New Year Field Trip & Lunch

Happy New Year! When every bird is a new bird! The Noel J. Cutright Bird Club is inviting members of all the Ozaukee Washington Birding Coalition organizations to participate in our traditional field trip searching for the first birds of the year. Then join us for a sub sandwich lunch at NOON in the Riveredge Nature Center barn. We’ll have chips, coffee, soda, and cookies for dessert as well.

Meet at 7:30 am at the downtown Port Washington Marina boat ramp. We will send an email the day before to all those who have emailed Carl if we are canceling the field trip and lunch.

We need to take a head count so please RSVP to Carl Schwartz at cschwartz3@wi.rr.com by Dec. 28 or sooner.

Family Nature Club: Birding at the Bog!

December 12 @ 4:00 pm – 5:30 pm

Family Nature Club: Birding at the Bog!

We will explore the bog in search of birds that call WI winters home! We will practice using binoculars and searching for signs to spot birds. While the sun sets, we will use our “Deer Ears” to listen for our feathered friends, and learn how they adapt to the cold season.

If this spikes your interest in being a citizen scientist, we will have information for you! You could participate for 1-2 hours this year for the Christmas Bird Count on Saturday, December 17th too!

Meet at the Cedarbug Bog Trail Entrance on Hwy 33 in Saukville.

Family Nature Club is a free offering to our community designed for kids ages 6-12 and their families. We facilitate outdoor, environmental-education based experiences for families to enjoy together.
