Riveredge invites dogs and their families to a special access day to hike our trails and enjoy the beauty of our sanctuary. Show your pups a piece of pristine nature and learn why sanctuaries like Riveredge must balance pets with local wildlife and plants. It’s the one day of the year where dogs can become Riveredge Kids too!
Leashes are required at all times and their human comrades are expected to pick up and dispose of any doo-doos. All human and canine guests must remain on designated trails (see map below).
Channel your inner DIY skills and join us for a day of creativity and handmade fun! Teens are exclusively invited to try new crafts and create one of a kind gifts to be shared over the holiday season.

Winter Camp. It’s a condensed, snowy version of Riveredge’s famous summer camp! With all the beauty on this wild winter wonderland, it’s not hard to find things to do. Campers ages 6-12 are invited to join us for three days of snowshoeing, ice fishing, building campfires, hiking, playing games, making crafts, and more!
In 2023, Winter Camp runs from 9am to 4pm each day, December 26th, 27th, and 28th with an optional overnight to the 29th. Three whole days of winter break spending time in the outdoors under the guidance of our fantastic environmental educators–what could be better? Both indoor and outdoor activities are carefully planned based on the weather and led by our fun and fully trained camp staff. Camp is a great experience for kids (AND for their parents who might appreciate a little quiet time during the busy holiday season).
FAQ:
What ages is this camp for?
Winter camp is for campers aged 6-12. Once we have all our campers signed up, they will be divided into groups based on age, so you can be assured your child will be placed with an age-appropriate group!
What do campers need to bring?
Once you’re signed up, you’ll get a full packet of info with everything you’ll need to know closer to the start of camp. But basically, enough layers and gear to be appropriately dressed for winter weather and a lunch. We’ll provide all the fun!
What time is camp?
Camp is from 9 AM to 4 PM each day. Campers will need to be transported to and from Riveredge at those times each day. Final day overnight option will have a 9am pickup the following morning.
Do I have to sign up ahead of time?
Yes, please! Pre-registration is required and Winter Camp enrollment is limited and will be filled on a first-come, first served basis, so be sure to register as soon as possible!
What’s the cost?
2023 prices are $175 for members, $200 for non-members, and $35 to add on the Thursday overnight option. Not yet a member? Sign up here for discounts on camps, programs, special events, and much more!
Have more than one child interested in attending camp? We offer a multiple child discount! First registration is full price and each additional child will receive 10% off. Camperships are available to assist families in need. Contact Steff Merten to apply for this financial assistance.
