Frog Fest!

June 4 @ 12:00 pm – 3:00 pm

FROG FEST!

Riveredge’s watery worlds burst with life throughout Spring! Gather your family and join the Riveredge Educators to search for frogs, tadpoles, turtles, salamanders and other creatures that live in our wetland habitats. Rotate to different stations where you’ll get familiar with frog calls (ribbit! croak! burp!), scoop for tadpoles and insects, learn about leeches, and talk turtles with our resident Box Turtle, Glitter! We’ll have a wonderful, amphibian-inspired craft for you as well.

Pre-registration is highly recommended. There will be limited walk-in spots available. Muck boots are recommended. Scooping materials like nets, buckets, and strainers can be left at home- as they are not allowed within the Riveredge Sanctuary! We look forward to exploring with you this spring!

Noel J Cutright Bird Club 30th Anniversary: Spring is Sprung

Kate Redmond is a longtime close friend of the club and the perfect writer and photographer to help us celebrate our 30th anniversary. “Spring is Sprung” starts out with a short review of the “science” of winter (distance from the sun, angle of the planet) and moves into the meteorological start of spring, March 1. Warning: The photos are very colorful and may prove a shock to the eye after a drab winter. Special anniversary treats will be served and a surprise or two is likely….

Fee: Free. No registration required.
