Nature Detectives: Fairies, Gnomes and Mythical Creatures

Join us as we go in search of mythical creatures at Riveredge.  We will discover areas that these creatures like to live and create natural homes for them to celebrate all things magic.  Please dress for the weather as our adventure will take us to diverse habitats.

Nature Detectives: Maple Magic

Discover how that delicious syrup finds its way from the forest to your breakfast plate. Join a naturalist on an adventure into the Riveredge sugarbush and experience tapping a tree firsthand. You will never look at your pancakes the same way again! Children under 6 must be accompanied by an adult.

Nature Detectives: Tunnel Dwellers

How do the smallest mammals travel during winter? We’ll search for the tunnels they create as well as other signs that reveal their presence in our sanctuary. Please dress for the weather and wear insulated boots. The hike will be in snowshoes or on foot.  Children under 6 must be accompanied by an adult.

Nature Detectives: Animal Tracking

It’s time to go snowshoeing!  Explore the woods, wetlands and meadows of Riveredge and search for signs of creatures that live there.  Please dress to be outdoors and wear insulated boots.  Depending on snow depth, the hike will be in snowshoes or on foot. Pre-registration suggested. Children under 6 must be accompanied by an adult.
