OWBC: Duck Hunting and the North American Conservation Model

September 7 @ 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm

Duck Hunting and the North American Conservation Model Ozaukee Washington Bird Coalition

Join us for this multi-media event presented by Bruce Ross, Executive Director of the Wisconsin Waterfowl Association. We’ll start off the evening at 6:00 PM with duck tasting, dog retrieving skills and duck skiff demo in the yard near the buildings. Then follow us inside for a video and presentation (also available to join virtually) on how harvesting waterfowl results in waterfowl conservation? While recent studies point to dramatic declines of most North American bird species, waterfowl numbers buck the trend significantly. This 40-minute indoor presentation considers the North American approach to waterfowl conservation that is built on the emotional—and financial–link between hunters and the natural environment in which they pursue game. It specifically considers the conservation impact of hunters and organizations like the Wisconsin Waterfowl Association and their efforts to strengthen our human connection to the environment.

6:00 outside demonstration, 7:00 indoor presentation (also available to join virtually)
