Earth Day 2016: Explore Milwaukee’s Water Heritage with John Gurda

Join us at Mequon Nature Preserve for a special Earth Day collaboration between Wisconsin Historical Society and the four major nature centers in Southeast Wisconsin: Mequon Nature Preserve, Urban Ecology Center, Schlitz Audubon Nature Center, and Riveredge. John Gurda, renowned writer and historian, will present Milwaukee: A City Based On Water, a talk in collaboration with a new interactive traveling exhibit focusing on Wisconsin waters and how they have shaped our state.

Make sure you also come see this very special Water Shapes Wisconsin exhibit on display at throughout the region before and after John’s talk! The display can be found at:

Urban Ecology Center- Washington Park: March 21 – April 3
Riveredge: April 4 – April 17
Mequon Nature Preserve: April 18 – May 1
Schlitz Audubon Nature Center: May 2 – May 16
