Implementing Watershed Education in the Digital Age – Paid Professional Development

June 25, 2018 @ 9:00 am - 3:00 pm

Thanks to extremely generous support from the NOAA Great Lakes B-WET grant program, Riveredge Nature Center is expanding Testing The Waters, our longstanding watershed education program in 2018/19. Nearly thirty years since inception, the Testing the Waters (TTW) program has engaged more than 40,000 students and over 120 teachers from 50+ schools in seven southeastern Wisconsin Great Lakes counties. You can see an overview of what this expansion means here!

An exciting part of this expansion is the opportunity for some awesome watershed education professional development opportunities. Throughout the summer, we’ll be offering a series of three courses that will not only allow teachers the opportunity to gain new skills to bring but their classes, but will offer a $300 stipend per teacher, per session that can be used for classroom supplies or needs. Click here to view a poster highlighting all three sessions.

At this session, we invite teachers to join Gateway Technical College Faculty, Mike Shuck and Riveredge Educational Technology Specialist, Carly Hintz to get hands on with digital water quality probeware basics and integration of other digital watershed education tools to implement in your middle and high school classes!

To apply for this and/or any of the other sessions of professional development, please visit the application here. If you have any questions on these opportunities, or have interest in learning more about Testing the Waters as a whole, please don’t hesitate to contact Mary Holleback at mholleback@riveredge.us or 262-375-2715.

A giant thanks to NOAA for their support!
