The March Toward a Livable Future
April 23, 2015 @ 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm
Free
Miriam Kashia lives near Iowa City, IA, where she was in private practice as a psychotherapist before she retired in 1965 and spent 2 years in Namibia, Africa with the Peace Corps. Her lifelong love of nature and outdoor adventures, and her growing concern about climate change inspired her to join the Great March for Climate Action last year. She spent 8 months walking across America sounding the alarm and listening to people’s stories about how their lives and health are being affected. In January she visited with Obama’s Special Assistant for Climate Change and Energy, top officials at the EPA, as well as her Iowa legislators. She will share those stories, pictures of the March, and talk about the urgency facing us and how we can most effectively respond to turn the tide and help create a livable future on our planet.
