Science for Everyone at LacLawrann: The Science Behind The Sip

Join Cassie Poirier, sensory specialist from Briess Malt & Ingredients Co., to learn about the exciting role humans play in the sensory evaluation of malt and beer. The industry has an array of analytical tools to evaluate malt and beer quality, but flavor must be evaluated by trained tasters who are relied upon to generate data that informs decisions regarding quality control, quality assurance, and research & development.
Science for Everyone is a monthly lecture series sponsored by Riveredge and the Friends of LacLawrann Conservancy and the UWM Field Station. The series covers a wide range of topics including natural history, science, public policy and the environment. The programs are for the curious of any age and are open to the public. The lectures will both educate and entertain.
