Science for Everyone: The Captivating World of Honeybees

April 15, 2014 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Honey Bees for pollination

Due to recent mass media coverage of Colony Collapse Disorder, the importance of honeybees has reemerged into modern society.  In The Captivating World of Honeybees, Harris Byers will give some insight into why getting stung is a small price to pay for the opportunity to work with one of the most fascinating insects in the world.  Harris will discuss the biology and ecology of honeybees and will touch on such topics as how honey is made, how the gangly honeybee manages to fly, and the ever popular topic, honeybee intercourse.
