Science for Everyone: Improvements to Ozaukee County’s Ecology through Invasive Species Control and Native Tree Plantings
October 20, 2015 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pmFree
Invasive species such as common buckthorn and the emerald ash borer are having a destructive effect on native plant and animal communities across Southeast Wisconsin and Ozaukee County. The Ozaukee County Planning and Parks Department is leading multiple efforts within the Ozaukee County Park System and at several large-scale habitat restoration project areas to offset the impact of invasive species and improve the landscape for fish, wildlife and Ozaukee County residents. Program assistant, Kristina Kroening, will share what has been done, what’s to come and how you can help combat invasive vegetation in Ozaukee County Parks or on your own property.
Fee: Free ($5 donation suggested). No registration required.
