Science for Everyone: Science and Journalism in the Connected Age
May 27, 2014 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
FreeThe internet and social media continue to reshape the landscape for both science and journalism. Old ways of communicating are quickly being surpassed, and that speed has also disrupted ingrained approaches to both doing and communicating science. What is the future of journalism and what does that mean for public understanding of science in this new era? Tim De Chant is the senior digital editor for NOVA, where he leads their longform science journalism initiative, NOVA Next. He is also the founder and producer of Per Square Mile, a blog about density. Tim has a Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley in environmental science, policy, and management and has written for Wired, the Chicago Tribune, Scientific American, and others.
