This program will be a feast for your mind and your appetite! Create delicious, easy-to-make recipes for beginner chefs and harvest fresh ingredients from the Children’s Organic Garden.
Laura Ingalls Wilder is the best-known author of Little House on the Prairie and other books about growing up as a pioneer girl in the Midwest (beginning in the forests of Pepin, WI). In this class, we can experience the flavor of some of her homespun favorite recipes including: cornbread dressing, mashed potatoes and root vegetables, cranberry jelly for junior chefs to make and take home, spiced apple cider and a sweet classic: Laura’s Gingerbread!
Please be prepared to share any food allergies your child may have. This program is limited to children 8-12 only, adults sit this one out to let their young chefs learn how to whip up a storm!
Children will be eating the food they make, but being that this program takes place over dinnertime, and depending on your child’s appetite, it might be smart to plan for a snack before or to have on-hand during the program.
Fee: Non-Members: $25/child, Riveredge Members: $15/child
