Riveredge Birdathon Bandathon
May 10, 2014 @ 6:00 am - 4:00 pm
Free
Join us for this 27th annual birding and banding event at Riveredge Nature Center. To participate all you will need is a pair of binoculars and comfortable walking shoes. You can watch birds on your own or email Carl Schwartz at cschwartz3@wi.rr.com to join a team that will be birding the far reaches of the property. The goal of the Noel J. Cutright Bird Club is to find at least 100 species after two bad weather years have stunted the count and the club’s only fundraising event. Al Sherkow, Deb Hartmann and their banding team will simultaneously be trying to catch and band as many species and individuals as they can. After 6:30am they’ll have mist nets set up near the Outdoor Classroom southeast of the Visitor Center. Stop to watch them handle and record the birds.
No registration required, but donations are encouraged. Click the link to download the Birdathon 2014 pledge form.
