CANCELLED: Plants for Green Schoolyards

August 25, 2018 @ 8:00 am - 12:00 pm

Update: Due to low enrollment, we’ve unfortunately had to cancel this workshop. But stay tuned for more professional development opportunities throughout the coming school year, and if you have any questions or interest in learning more about natural playspaces in your own school, Phyllis is always happy to chat! Find our more on our Playing Naturally initiative page or contact Phyllis at pmckenzie@riveredge.us or 262-375-2715.

During this design workshop, participants will learn ways to include native plants in their schoolyard to attract pollinators, produce sensory experiences, create quiet havens or build structures. Phyllis McKenzie, our Playing Naturally initiative playspace designer, naturalist, and permaculturist will help participants discover how to choose and care for native plants that will enhance your schoolyard, garden, outdoor classroom or playspace. We’ll experience these plants with all our senses as we tour Riveredge and our permaculture farm!

Cost: $35 for Riveredge Members, $40 for non-members
