Noel J. Cutright Bird Club: Hummingbirds: Their Life Cycle, Behaviors and How to Attract Them to Your Yard

January 6, 2015 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Many people, even those who would not describe themselves as “birders,” love viewing hummingbirds each summer in Wisconsin. Emily and Larry Scheunemann will explain how to create a habitat that will attract and nurture Ruby-Throated Hummingbirds and share some of their wonderful hummingbird photos, demonstrating the varied habits of this aggressive little bird. Additionally, Mickey O’Conner, who works as an avian zookeeper at the Milwaukee County Zoo, will show us the special equipment she uses as just one of only 150 hummingbird banders in the U.S. In 2014, Mickey has banded 237 hummers  to track their age, health and migration.

Fee: Free for all participants. No registration required.
