Land Management Planning & Practices

Discussions and activities will provide private and public landowners with information about  land management and practices. This workshop for adults will use Riveredge Nature Center as an example to illustrate how landowners can plan and implement land management practices to improve the health of their forests. The event will include discussions, a walking tour of Riveredge land management examples, and resources from UWSP, WI DNR, Tree Farm Program, and the local Land Trust.

Tentative Schedule 

1:30:  Welcome, introductions, land management plans and how they are aligned to mission objectives

2:00:  What is a forest management plan and why is it important? What are the components of a plan?

2:20:  Riveredge Land Management Plan

2:45:  Resources for Landowners – Tree Farm Program, Conservation Easements, Forestry Experts

3:00-400: Walking tour of Riveredge Land Management Practices

 

Fee: Free for all participants ($5 donation appreciated). Please register by April 22nd.
