Noel J. Cutright Bird Club – The Great Wisconsin Birdathon
May 1, 2018 @ 6:00 pm - 9:30 pm
Through Cutright’s Old Coots, Bill Mueller’s Long Walks for the Birds and our very own Walks in the Parks, bird club members and the club itself have played a big role in the success of the Great Wisconsin Birdathon, a Natural Resources Foundation of Wisconsin project led again this year by Diane Packett, who will be here to update us on activities of the Bird Protection Fund, including the Great Wisconsin Birdathon, which has set a goal for 2018 of raising $100,000. Diane’s M.S. research in migratory stopover ecology at Purdue University was funded by the birdathon of Amos W. Butler Audubon Society, so she’s been excited to give back to the birdathon program. Before coming to NRF, Diane worked as GIS analyst for The Nature Conservancy of West Virginia and as a researcher collecting and analyzing bird data for several state, federal and private agencies.
Pre-meeting bird hike at 6 PM. Meeting at 7 PM.
The bird club meets the first Tuesday of every month. It brings together those who enjoy observing and learning more about birds and sharing these interests with others. All activities are free & open to the public. Attend a meeting or field trip to become a member and receive the electronic bimonthly newsletter.
