Knee Deep in Prairies

August 12, 2015 @ 8:00 am - 4:00 pm

a group of adults walking through the prairie from a distance

One of the great glories of Riveredge is the 35 acres of mature prairie plantings, legacy of Andy Larsen, who served as director of Riveredge from soon after its founding in 1968 until 2001.  Andy’s vision and work with volunteers transformed worn-out farmland into the spectacular prairie community of today.  Now, from pasque flowers in the spring to myriad summer blooming plants, to the gentian, goldenrod and asters of fall, the prairies at Riveredge are a constantly changing place of wonder.

Explore and learn about these fascinating ecosystems with a full day of hands on learning sessions with the experts in prairie ecology.

Visit our Knee Deep in Prairies web page for more information.

Call (262) 375-2715 to register or print off and mail in the registration form (found in the brochure below) with your payment. Please register by August 7 to allow for food preparation.
