To ensure we’re using our resources most efficiently, the Riveredge visitor center will normally be closed on weekends in January and February. We love to snowshoe and ski with the best of them though, so we will have special pop-up building hours on winter weekends if snow conditions are favorable for winter adventure!
Unfortunately, we didn’t get much snow to begin with earlier this week, and the high temps and wind meant almost all of it that we did has melted. (Come on winter!!!) Therefore, the building will remain closed this weekend. Please check our Calendar of Events each weekend to stay up to date on future pop-up hours!
The good news? Our trails are always open to the public every single day from dawn to dusk. If you’d like to get out for a hike, ski, or snowshoe on your own equipment, you are always more than welcome. Riveredge members can always access the trails for free and non-members can pay the small trail admission fee ($4 per adult, $2 per kid, or $12 for a family) in the deposit box on the front door of the visitor center.
If you do hit the trails, make sure to wear boots (trails are likely to be wet with melted snow) and plan your hike accordingly knowing the building and bathrooms will not be open. Enjoy the trails!
