WHY RIDE RIVEREDGE?
A Ride That's Naturally Special
For 28 years, the Riveredge Bike Ride has been all about the experience. The experience of getting out the door, on your bike, and into the gorgeous Kettle Moraine scenery. This year, we're inviting riders to explore between June 20 - June 30 and to explore Wisconsin roads and trails as often as schedules allow. Think of the 2020 Riveredge Ride as an extended bike riding holiday!
Digital Route Options
In traditional years, the ride offers 7 different route options from 8 to 100 miles, all focused on exploring the natural beauty and small-town charm our little corner of Wisconsin has to offer.
This year, we're encouraging participants to engage in their favorite rides starting from home, or to embrace this occasion to explore some new territory in our beautiful Wisconsin scenery.
Make A Week Of It!
Throughout the history of the Riveredge Ride, the experience has always been tied to one location and one day. This year, however, you've got a total of 10 days in which to go exploring under pedal power.
We encourage you to take this opportunity to see how much riding you can enjoy in the span of two weekends and the week in-between.
It's For A Great Cause
Not only is the ride a great time, it's also one of Riveredge's biggest fundraisers of the year! Your participation helps to protect 379 acres of wild Wisconsin and connect tens of thousands of community members with the natural world each year.
While many of us have been working from home, this iteration of the digital Riveredge Ride is both an opportunity to benefit Riveredge, and a reason to get yourself out of the house and into the fresh Wisconsin air.
EXPLORE THE NATURAL BEAUTY OF SOUTHEAST WISCONSIN
In past years, we've provided specific routes from 7 - 100 miles in length. We're keeping these listed below in case you'd like to explore similar routes.
These routes take riders along the banks of the Milwaukee River, through a canopies of trees, coasting down a hills surrounded by swaying prairie plants, and along the shoreline of Lake Michigan.
And remember, as we always like to say, it's a ride, not a race! We encourage you to ride at your own pace, set your own goals for the day, and take time to enjoy the view!
NOTE: Due to scheduled construction along our traditional routes, we would have had detours if the 2020 Riveredge Ride had taken place as in previous years.
Please check in advance of your ride to ensure that your planned route is open and free of construction or detours.

Safety Rules And Reminders
Your safety is our biggest concern! It is very important to note that the Riveredge Bike Ride is NOT A RACE and the routes/roads are NOT CLOSED.
- That means you'll be sharing the roads with vehicles, so rules of the road must be observed and single file riding is required.
- We encourage pre-ride bike safety checks in advance of the riding week. Right now bike shops are busy and experiencing parts both parts shortages and extended wait times for maintenance. We encourage you to visit one of our bike shop sponsors for parts and maintenance well in advance of the ride.
- Helmets are required. Bike mirrors are recommended.
- Make sure you have enough water, or are certain of locations where water and food can be acquired.
