Nature Detectives: River Exploration

July 13 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am

This program has been changed from Mussel Monitoring to River Exploration!! We will still be sampling for creatures that can help scientists assess water quality, so plan to enter the River for some cool fun! Waders are optional- if you’d rather wear old tennis-shoes and shorts, that’s just fine by us!

Over half of Wisconsin’s 52 native mussel species (also known as clams) are listed as species of greatest conservation. This citizen- science based program will take us down to the edge of the Milwaukee River on Riveredge property. We’ll use various tools to find, identify and record the data we find. We will be entering the River for this program with waders provided by Riveredge. Please dress for the weather.  (Recommended for ages of 8 and up)

Fee: Non-Members $7.00/child, Trail Pass Members: $5.00/child, All Access Members: FREE

Please don’t hesitate to call us at 262-375-2715 if you have any questions or run into any problems. We’re here to help! Thank you so much for your patience as we work to continue to improve our services for you!
