Fly Tying with Synthetics

Sunday, February 24, 12:30-3:30pm
This class is devoted exclusively to tying flies with synthetics, and you’ll also learn that not all imitations need to cost an arm and a leg. We will tie any pattern you might want to attempt all with synthetics. The advantages of tying certain patterns on a hook style that has been around for awhile will also be demonstrated. We supply all the materials, you bring your tools, threads, and questions.
Class size is limited. Pre-registration required.

Fly Fishing for Beginners
Sunday, May 19, 12:30–3:30pm
If you’re curious about fly fishing but have never tried it this class is for you. Come learn about the equipment you’ll need, the lures and two basic casts. You’ll have a chance to try your luck at catching a few in nearby pond too. We will supply all the equipment.
Class size limited to 12. Call to register.

Fathers Day Fly Fishing for Beginners
Sunday, June 16, 12:30-3:30pm
This is an opportunity for fathers and their children to learn something new together on this special day. It also makes a great gift for a dad. We will supply all the equipment.

Fly Fishing for Intermediates
Sunday, July 14 or 21, 12:30-3:30pm
Who qualifies for this class? Those who have their own equipment, have done some fly fishing and now want to learn how to improve casts, presentations, knots, and lures selections. We will discuss some advanced techniques, but the main emphasis is on you, the individual student. Bring your questions, we will answer them the best we can.
We plan on ending up in the river, so bring your tackle, and waders or hip boots, Riveredge can supply hip boots - just tell us your size when you register.
Class size is limited to 2. Call to register. (both classes will cover the same material)
Fee: $40, Member: $35
PLEASE NOTE: If response to these classes is strong enough, we will schedule additional classes. AND, If you are interested in any of these classes, but our schedule, including any additional classes we might have, does not meet with yours, you can create your own class. If you can put together six individuals for the beginners fly fishing class, four people for the fly tying class, and two people for the intermediate class, call us. We will do what we can to put together a class for you.
Also, know that the State of Wisconsin, because we do fish in some of our classes, requires you to have a fishing license. RNC presumes you know this and have obtained your license prior to the start of class.
