Interested in backpacking, but not quite ready for a long wilderness trek? Then join us for a two-day hike through rolling wooded hills dotted with serene lakes. We’ll work to develop leadership and outdoor skills, and practice “leave no trace” principles in the Northern Kettle Moraine State Forest. The first day of camp will be spent at Riveredge as we learn basic backpacking skills. On the second day, after a quick visit to the Ice Age Center, we will start our journey on the scenic Ice Age Trail. Along the way, we’ll discover many hidden wonders of this unique area and sleep under the stars. You provide a sleeping bag, sleeping pad, hiking boots and backpacks and we’ll provide the rest. (Riveredge has a limited number of backpacks and sleeping pads available for those who sign up first.) Space is limited on this wilderness adventure, so sign up early!
