Fourth grade just got a whole lot better.
Fourth grade is a time to explore Wisconsin. At Riveredge, we think it’s the perfect time for families to explore our natural world too! In recognition of President Obama’s efforts to get kids outside and experiencing our public lands, through the Every Kid in a Park initiative, Riveredge is offering 4th graders in southeastern Wisconsin a FREE ‘all access’ membership to Riveredge Nature Center. Swing from the tree tops, catch crayfish in the river, tap a maple tree, or relax in the hammocks—with over ten miles of trails and countless family programs, exploring nature with your family just became easy.
We’re committed to building happier, healthier families and communities. Studies continue to show that time spent outdoors increases creativity, reduces stress, improves mood, and even boosts health! And it’s never too early to start- in fact, one study reports that children who interact with nature before the age of 11 are more likely to have positive attitudes towards nature and the environment when they are older. Another perfect reason to ensure all our 4th graders have access to safe, fun, and close natural areas like Riveredge.
NEW this year: have a child who will be going into fourth grade in the 2017-2018 school year? Sign up for your membership now and get all the benefits early. It’s the perfect recipe for a summer of adventure, health, and happiness! Had a fourth grader last school year? The membership doesn’t expire until the end of August, so it’s not too late to sign up!
Isle Royale and Yellowstone too
Our project is in partnership with the “Every Kid In a Park” initiative, which is giving every U.S. 4th grader and his or her family free access to any national park, forest, land or water for an entire year. Fourth graders are able to register for a pass that allows them and their family to experience all the beautiful natural areas the country has to offer. With the Every Kid in a Park pass and a free Riveredge membership, we hope fourth graders have the ability to get outdoors on both a national and local level.

Wait, what if we’re already members?
We really appreciate all our families who have already joined the Riveredge movement as members and don’t want them to miss out on this opportunity. If you have a fourth grader in your family and are already members, let us know and we will add an extra year of membership to your current one.
